I totally missed a November blog. Why because I found out I had to be on bed rest! What does that mean exactly? In one word it literally means prison. So of course I find work around, such as using my ten minute breaks to sew! I put together a list of all my unfinished projects and decided to start with the worst offender, the stinking rocking chair. It's been half done for about three months now and I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get to it. My goal is to be done before Christmas and present the gift to my baby girl. I owe her that much since one of my unfinished projects is a 12 month old pajama I was sewing her (she's 15 months this month). Err... Of course it is now February and I just finished it. Well, better late than never.
So for this project all I needed was fabric and cording. Oh and a YouTube video of how to sew a slip cover. Can I just say the lady made it look so damn easy. I would not recommend this project to beginning sewers. If you are beginner sewer I would recommend you staple the new fabric to the old fabric and call it a day.
I would like to give special thanks to Kae and her Grandma for giving me inspiration to start the project. Thank you to my cousin Jadine for gifting Dylan the chair in the first place (which she loves). Last but not least Kathleen for sending me a CD of the Juno soundtrack so that I can work on this piece (hence the title of this blog).
I'm so proud! Baby D loves it. Now you and her can each be in your rockers together! Barney forever!
