Carnie Party in an Inkstagram

The party came and went faster than the we put together the decorations.  Here is what we did to make this carnival party a hit!

Food - Corn dogs, hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, nachos station (cheese (keep in a slow cooker to keep it warm), guacamole, jalapenos, olives, onions, etc), tater tots, curly fries, french fries, churros, kettle corn, oreo's on a stick, cotton candy, macaroni salad, lasagna.

Drinks - Water, Capri Suns, strawberry lemonade, beer, sodas

Entertainment - Music, pin the nose on the clown, swimming pool, playground, tricycles

Decorations - All the decorations were printed from a Dimple Prints found on Etsy. The games and goodie bags came from Oriental Trading Company

Party hats used as kettle corn holders instead.

Lies Full of Muffins

So I always try and find recipes with key words such as "Easiest" and "Ever".  Never have they fulfilled my expectations or expectations of those eating it.  I found a recipe for blueberry muffins with those key words and this is what you can expect.  Absolutely NOTHING like the picture that coincided with the recipe.  Yes, those are muffins in a muffin tin, not cookies.  As bad as it looks is as bad as it tastes.  I try and stay positive and believe in myself that cooking will come to me, but I'm on the brink of hopelessness.  HELP ME food Gods!

Carnival Skirt

In one week we are throwing Dylan and her cousin a birthday party.  We landed on a carnival theme and I found some cute carnival fabric.  I spent the night making two identical skirts which didn't turn out identical at all.  My advise is to follow this tutorial by Dana Made It.  I personally tried to do it from memory and it was a big mistake.  I honestly shed blood, sweat and tears making these skirts.  I have the bandaid's on my fingers to prove it. Wish us luck on party day!

Home Improvements

I've been addicted lately to this site called Pintrest.  It gives you all kinds of neat idea's. So I had to put some of them to the test.  Here is what I've been up to for $5 from Lowe's.
Under my sink before Pintrest.

Under my sink after Pintrest. For $3.50 get a tension curtain rod and look at all the extra space I have!
Using a shoe organizer to organize my medicine!  Brilliant!  Look it all the duplicate stuff I have because I couldn't see it all in plain sight! I paid $1.25 for the hooks (that's if you don't want to hang it on your door).

Don't put all your vases in cabinets. Take them out and repurpose them!
