Iron Man

It's coming down to the wire and this is my last month off. I've been looking around the house, thinking what kind of last minute projects I can do. Not only do, but do quickly. My hubby just bought a new iron and loves it. As for the ironing board, it was basically stained by our last iron.

I'm basically adding more padding to our existing board and making a new cover. Super simple.

All you need is fabric and some string. I used to shoe laces that my dad had lying around.

Look at that giant ugly stain on my ironing board!!!
You'll need to turn the board upside down and trace onto your fabric around the board, but adding another 2.5 inches all the way around.

Once you've cut out the fabric you'll want to do a baste stitch around the curves. You don't have to, but it makes it easier to sew later.
Now you'll want to sew under 1.5 inches all the way around. You can be fancy and fold under .5 inches, iron, then fold again 1.5 inches. This way you won't see any raw edges and you won't have to worry about fraying your fabric. Sew all the way around leaving a 2 inch gap, so you can put your string through.
When you've pulled the string all the way around, pull the string has hard has possible so your fabric is nice and tight. Then tie a knot. Once your done, you'll have a great looking board that might make you want to iron.
