It's in the bag

The striped fabric is from my Grandma's stash, the denim was found in a remnants pile and the floral print I bought at Jo Ann's. The odd fish tool is actually a letter opener, but you'll need something like that when you flip your bag right side out and need to poke the corners of your bag out.

It's almost time for me to go back to work again which means I have to go find my brain, dust it off and start using it again. Boo.

I just got this book by Lotta Jansdotter, which I'm a huge fan of. I have a couple of her books that I LOVE. Saw this cute diaper bag she made, but of course I had to modify it a little. I had to add lining of course!

Note to self when making another bag with straps:

  1. Don't line up the strap to the seam line. Give yourself at least 2 inches of slack so you can sew an X for a more secure strap.

  2. Leave the hole to flip the bag on the inside fabric and not on the rim of the bag. So you don't have to sew the rim twice.

  3. When sewing the lining to the bag, the bag needs to be wrong side out while the lining needs to be right side out. Put the lining inside the bag and sew.
Just wanted to thank my Mama for coming over and letting me have time to make this bag. She watched the kids and gave me two extra hours of sleep!!! Thanks Mama!!!
