Diapers or Decorations?

When an office pitches in for a baby shower and you need decorations how much do you spend?! Because the decoration nazi came with me to the Dollar Store, we left with 2 table clothes, 2 streamers, wrapping paper, 3 yellow bows, 2 napkin packs and 2 packs of plates! Total cost $10, that's it. I couldn't even get a garland or balloons! My co-worker did raise a good point. She said, "Do you want the baby to have diapers or decorations?" Errr.... Fortunately enough, Sherrie came up with some great idea's on what little we had. Instead of looking like a streamer blew up in the conference room she made some cute touches.

Take a plain white cup and wrap a streamer around it.

Turn a plain tablecloth into a plain tablecloth with a streamer runner!

A streamer door garland!

Food table.

Create your own Banner with a whiteboard and streamers.

Don't have enough wrapping paper? Slap some bows on it and call it a day.

Easter Bunnies!

My oh so crafty cousin sent the kids an awesome Easter care pack. She's just so amazing at every craft she tackles. For this project of amigurumi, she used machine washable yarn from her local craft store and saftey eyes! She said she can do two in a week. The book she used is called Amigurumi Cozy. One day I would love to learn this, but I have too many projects stock piled in my house right now. I must concentrate!

Eggs Over Easy

I finally had a free day today and what better way to spend it than with my parents??!! For so many reasons:

  1. They cook our breakfast

  2. They let me take a nap while they watch the kids

  3. They make my snacks

  4. They change Max's diapers

  5. They take the kids out for walks

  6. They cook dinner for me and the kids

  7. They wash my dishes

  8. Oh and because I LOVE them!
So as I'm reading the Sunday paper I see the Dollar Tree's catalog and say, "Holy shit it's almost Easter!". Which means I have to get the kids goodie bags ready for daycare!! Ugghhh..Last time for Valentines I spent an arm and a leg for those things. Not this time. So for $20, I got twelve kids bubbles, flash cards, chocolates and Play Doh filled eggs. Not to mention the cello bags to put them in! The key is to go to the dollar store and buy things that come in packs. Everything I bought came in packs of three, four or six! The bags came in a pack of 25, so you know I'll be saving those for next year.

Had to include a booty shot of my son on his arts and crafts table! The picture is kind of obscure do to the lighting, sorry!Big thanks to my parents, grandma and brother for watching the kiddies so I can recharge! Muah.
